So I have officially signed up for my first online class at Iowa. Hard to believe it will be starting around mid May! I haven't found out what my financial aid will be yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a lot! One class and books is approximately $1000. I suppose you just have to consider it an investment in your future.
I am very excited to be taking an intro to social psychology class. Just ordered my book so I am anxious to look through it a little when it comes in the mail. I have also registered for my fall courses. I noticed that they were filling up quick so I took my academic counselors advice and looked at some of the classes to complete my gen ed requirements. I will be taking an intro to Islamic civilization class and a classic mythology class. Hoping that two classes doesn't turn out to be too much to handle with the house and kids and such.
Go Hawks!

a few Easter pics
Happy Easter!!
This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Happy Easter everyone. We have had a full weekend of Easter egg hunts and lots of fun with family. It is crazy to think that last year at Easter I was still pregnant with Aubrey and this year due to the lateness of Easter she is already one year old!! Needless to say I was much more comfortable this Easter than last!
Anyways - back to the real reason we celebrate Easter. Thursday night we went to a great Maundy Thursday service at church, Friday we enjoyed the day as a family and after the kids went to bed that night we watched The Passion of the Jesus Christ. Jeremy had never seen it before and I hadn't watched it for a few years. I really believe this is something that everyone of the appropriate age should see and I should try and watch it every year or so. It is a very powerful depiction of the crucifixion of Christ and what he did for ME! And all of you ofcouse. Sunday morning at Sunday school we moved from room to room collecting eggs that tell the Easter story. The kids all got to take home an egg carton filled with eggs so they can retell the story to their families. Then we enjoyed a wonderful Easter service, church was so full we had to sit up in the balcony and that was fun to see a different view of the service. Right after church we headed down to Bussey for Easter lunch with the Rozenboom side.
All in all it was a fantastic day, weather and all. I enjoyed a nice afternoon nap while the kids played and watched the Cubs game with Jeremy. I pray that you know the reason we celebrate today and the magnitude of what Christ did for us on the cross.
God Bless

Haircut
So I finally broke down today and made an appointment for a haircut and highlight. I still hadn't fully made up my mind on what I wanted to do but something needed to be done! After about a year and a half of growing my hair out I have chopped it off again!! I always like it short other than not being able to pull it back at the pool and such but I had gotten too lazy here lately about just pulling it back in a ponytail ALL THE TIME! I am hoping that short hair for the summer means cooler hair and with it short I will have to take the time to style it - thus an improved self esteem and no longer avoiding mirrors in my house. Anyways this is probably more than anyone cared to hear about my hair so I will just finish with a pic from the web cam. Hopefully soon I will get some better pics taken with the kids or something but this will do for now.
Take care and God bless on this maundy Thursday!

Aubrey 1 year

Well my baby girl is one year old!! She started out at 7# 11.6 oz and 21" and at her one year well child check up she was 20# 13 oz and 29.5"! She is a little smaller than her brothers were but that is ok. I am very proud of myself because I made it one whole year nursing!!! Baby girl has never had formula and rarely had a bottle. I had a lot of milk in the freezer from when I worked and since I have been weening her since she turned 11 months I was able to use it all up. She is now drinking whole milk twice a day and nursing before bed time. She is also finally doing good putting herself to sleep in her crib at night.
over 1 year later
So it has been over a year since I have written a post. Needless to say we have been busy. April 14, 2010 we welcomed our baby girl into the world and now she is one year old already. Aubrey Jane Rozenboom has been such a joy for our whole family. Here big brothers adore her, Daddy is in love with his little girl, and I have enjoyed the world of dresses, pink and hair bows.
A lot has happened in our extended family as well. We lost both of Jeremy's maternal grandparents and that was tough. Grandpa passed on the day Aubrey was born about 7 hours after her arrival and his grandma passed about 7 months later.
Things have changed a lot for me personally too. On the plus side Jeremy started working first shift last August so it has been great having him home in the evenings now - especially with three kiddos! But this past December there were several layoffs in the office at Pella Corp and my position was one of the ones that was eliminated. I was offered another position in Customer Service that would still be job share. After a lot of consideration we decided that this was my opportunity to stay home while the kids are younger and while Aubrey is a baby and I took the layoff package.
It was an adjustment being home full time but I have really enjoyed it. For a few months this year I watched a good friends girls a day or two a week and Nile really enjoyed that. I am seriously considering taking on a few families and doing daycare as a source of income for our family.
I am also going back to school through an online program at the University of Iowa. I am very excited to start taking my first class this summer - it is an intro to social psychology - which I love!
Well I guess that is enough for this post. I am determined to do a better job keeping this up to date now that I am home more!
God Bless!!
