Moving day

The day has finally come.  Tomorrow we will move our final possessions out of our first home.  We are all very excited but it is a little bittersweet for me too.  I know our family desperately needs more room and our house is going to someone who truly likes it and will take care of it.  Jeremy got the day off on Wednesday so we got a lot moved into the trailer and my parents garage that day.  He also got off early today and we have almost everything out!  Tomorrow we will just need to take our bed down and Aubrey's crib and the boys' mattresses and they will all go into the trailer.

We will be moving to my parents house for the time being.  We are still waiting to hear back from the bank on the short sale of the house we want to buy.  We signed the papers today for the sale of our house and I cant wait for the call Tuesday for me to go pick up our check with the proceeds of our sale!!  I am going straight to the bank and paying off my car and then Jeremy's student loans and the rest into savings.  It will be awesome to be debt free - even if it is only for a month!

My parents will be heading south a week from tomorrow so we will only be living all together for a week.  Hopefully that goes well, I am not too worried about it.  We are hoping to be able to get into our new house in March sometime but we just have to wait to see what the bank says.  In the mean time it will be nice to save lots of $$.

BOXES

Well the countdown is on.  Our house is starting to fill up with boxes and everyone is excited to have some more space to call our own.  The only trouble is we don't know for sure when we will actually get that place!  For the mean time though we will be heading over to my parents house here in town and it works out really well because they will be gone for approximately 5 weeks down south to do some mission work and avoid the cold weather here in Iowa.  We close on our current house the 31st so we are hoping to more almost everything out the weekend before.

This weekend will be busy too since we have our final Christmas get together Saturday night - which coincidentally is our 7 year anniversary.  And then we have a very special birthday party for Mr Nile turning 5 Sunday after church - his actual birthday is Monday.  Seems like the fun never stops some days!  HAHA.  I have also started both my Spring semester classes now too.  I am taking a Marriage and Family Therapy class through Iowa with online lecture every Tuesday afternoon and a Natural Resource Conservation class through NICC online also.  So far I am managing everything pretty well.  Some night when I go to bed I have a little trouble "turning off my mind".  But I have been praying a lot that God will help me to remember to let go of things and let him steer the ship!  It truly does help so much!  I have also really been enjoying the start to our reading the Bible in two years program a church.  I have been very faithful to get my daily reading done and if I do miss a day I make it up right away as to not fall behind and give up.  This will be a big bucket list item to accomplish and I hope to do it several time in my lifetime.

Tomorrow night we start a 6 week love and logic parenting class at our church.  I am excited because dinner is included and they have a sitter there for the kids so it is almost like a free date night!!  I probably wont see it that way after our first class but hey what do we have to lose other than a few hours out of our week.  I am hoping between learning some new things at this class and moving to a bigger house where we aren't always on top of each other things will become calmer at the Rozenboom household!  Insert more prayers here as well!

Well I suppose that is all for tonight - I need to get back to my reading for classes.

Stay warm and God bless!

Update

Well it has been a little while since my last post so I thought I would let everyone know what we have been up to.  We had a wonderful Christmas and everyone has managed to stay healthy other than a few colds/runny noses.

Things have been pretty crazy here the last few weeks.  We had been looking at refinancing our house since we thought we would be staying here for the next while with me not working.  We talked to a few different people about this and one suggested that the market is so good right now for buyers that we still consider that.  We would like to move but have always had trouble finding the right buyer.

Leave it to God's timing but a few days later I got an email about someone wanting to look at our house for their mom to move up to Pella.  We decided that is didnt hurt to let them look so they came and LOVED IT!  Since then we have agreed on a price and drawn up a contract.  We have also found a house that we LOVE and agreed on a price with the realtor of that house!  The only hang up is that it will be a short sale so we dont know when we will be able to get into the house.  Thankfully my parents have a large house here in town so we will be moving into their house at the end of January!!  They will be gone all of February and the beginning of March so hopefully but they time they get back we will be able to get into our new house.  We are all very excited about how everything has worked out and cant wait to get settled into our new home.  It has been amazing to see how God has supplied everything we have needed and taken care of us through this sometimes stressful time.  I am so thankful that I can give all my worries to him and know that his is in control and will take care of us.

We have been a little nervous about the situation since we have had deals fall through in the past so we have been trying to keep things under wraps till now.  It has been hard since we are so excited too!  Our buyer really loves our home and the new things we have done recently to update things so we are happy that someone who loves our little house as much as we do will be getting it.

It is a little sad for me too to think about leaving this house.  This was our first house as husband and wife and where we brought Nile and Aubrey home from the hospital too.  But we do really need more space and it will be so fun to decorate a new house and to be able to have Aubrey have her very own girly room!!

As of this point we have started packing and plan to be out of our house at the end of the month and then we will have to see how soon we can get into our new house!!

Blessings to all,
