Tooth fairy

Nile likes to let his loose teeth hang on as long as possible.  He has been telling me for a week that his tooth was really loose but he doesnt want Jeremy to help with it and he just lets it be.  Yesterday morning Nile got up and was getting ready to eat breakfast and he noticed that his loose tooth was gone!  We checked his bed and didnt see anything so I just assumed he swallowed it in the night.  Hayden actually ate his very first loose tooth so I wasnt terribly concerned.

Fast forward to last night and Hayden also had a loose tooth that he wanted Jeremy to help him with.  Daddy worked on it a little but then Hayden did it him self and got the tooth out.  2 lost teeth from 2 boys in 1 day!  When we were looking for Hayden's tooth box to put the tooth in I stepped on something next to his bed and it was Nile's tooth!  Nile had made a note to the tooth fairy to explain prior to finding the tooth, just to make sure it still counted.  The note said, "Dear tooth fairy.  I ate my tooth."  For some reason the simplicity of this note is just too cute and sweet to me!

Both the boys got a visit from the tooth fairy, which Nile is convinced is his 1st grade teacher, and I am waiting for them to wake up and find their reward.

Minors tournament

Last week was the tournament for minors little league.  Hayden's team was the 11 seed and proceeded to win and make it to the championship game.  The game was supposed to be played on Sunday afternoon but a thunderstorm prevented that and the game was postponed till tonight.  The game was 0-0 for 5 innings before the other team scored 3.  We ended up getting 1 run but lost 3-1.  The boys played great and all improved so much this season.  It was nerve racking and fun to watch them this past week.  So proud of them all - especially my #10 and his handsome coach!

Swimming lessons - Aubrey & Nile

Nile and Aubrey are both doing swimming lessons together this summer with a girl from church.  Nile had lessons with her last year and Aubrey started out but then decided she didn't want anything to do with it.  This year they are together and even though they are at very different levels they are both more comfortable together.

Nile wrapped up his first season of rookies this past Saturday morning.  He enjoyed playing and is learning more about the game.  He is a sports nut through and through - just like his daddy!

A week and a half ago we took the boys to an Iowa Cubs baseball game.  Aubrey is not a huge baseball fan at this point, too many of brothers games so far this spring, so she got to hang out with Papa and Grandma Cathy and have a sleep over at their house.  Nile had the biggest grin on his face at the game - he is truly a sports nut!  Hayden got some dippin dots in a tiny Iowa Cubs batting helmet and Nile got his favorite - cotton candy!  The game wasn't terribly exciting and they lost but we still had a fun night with the boys.
